The month of May is National Walking Month, and this year we are challenging staff to walk 100 miles each in May! We challenge you to increase your daily steps- every step counts!
The benefits of walking are profound- a 20-minute walk can reduce the risk of several preventable health conditions, including certain cancers, depression, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes.
Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve physical and mental health and stay connected to our community, helping us feel less lonely and isolated. By swapping a short drive for a short walk, you can also help reduce air pollution and congestion, save yourself some money and keep active in the process!
Join our virtual walking challenge for the 4th year running! Walk 100 miles throughout the month of May! Walk individually or grab your colleagues/ family/ friends! Complete this form to join: https://forms.office.com/e/m9Fbg41V40
You will be added to a team’s channel where you can record your progress and support each other, and we will also be sharing tips, weekly challenges, walking routes and more!
