On 4 August 1914, Britain declared war on Germany.
In doing so, the country was committed to one of the deadliest conflicts in history, which had a profound impact on communities across the country including here in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
Over the course of the next five years, the Council will use this web page to provide information on what we are doing to mark the centenary of the First World War.
This will include information on the projects, events, and exhibitions being planned and delivered by the Council to commemorate the First World War. Our Digital Archive contains many images related to the First World War.
