The Council’s total net revenue budget for 2020/21 is £509M. Welsh Government funds 76% of this budget (£389M), Council Tax income accounts for 23% (£116M) and the remaining 1% (£4M) is from specific grants and the use of the Council’s own reserves.
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Budget Consultation for 2021/22 will be a phased approach, so that we can ensure residents and stakeholders have as much opportunity as possible to provide views on the budget and to make sure that views are informed by the most up to date and relevant information.
We are due to receive the 2021/22 Welsh Government Settlement later this year and you can click on the following link to view the Council’s latest Medium Term Financial Plan
Phase 1
Phase 1 runs until Monday 7th December 2020. We would like your views on levels of Council Tax, the resources allocated to schools, Fees and Charges, spend and service priorities, efficiencies, investment priorities and the Council Tax Reduction Scheme.

Phase 2
The views received from phase 1 will inform the Council’s draft budget strategy, which will then be consulted upon in phase 2. The Phase 2 process is currently anticipated to take place early in 2021.
