The cost-of-living crisis is still affecting many people across the county, who are facing rises in food, fuel and living costs. Community Food Pantries and Food Banks are located across Rhondda Cynon Taf to provide support and guidance for those struggling to afford or access food.
The Trussell Trust is UK’s leading food bank network and operates 21 foodbanks across RCT, which provide emergency food support to those who need it.
People who need direct food support from a Trussell Trust food bank can be issued with a foodbank voucher from a registered organisation, in RCT these include Citizens Advice, the Work & Skills team, and some GP Surgeries and Schools.
To find out who the registered agencies are for your local foodbank you can contact them on the information provided below or call the free national helpline on 0808 208138.
For independently run foodbanks, please contact them directly for information on how to access their food support or go online and visit their web or social media pages.
Community Food Pantries are an alternative food support project where members pay a small membership fee to access the pantry and choose from the food that is available.
