During 2021, 956 RCT residents took part in a strength-based community survey.
The main findings were:
- There was a strong sense of Social Capital in Rhondda Cynon Taf
- People felt that family, health & friends mattered most to them
- People felt that public spaces, health & activities mattered most to their communities
- People wanted more activities in their communities
- Most people were willing to travel up to 4 miles to access good services and activities
- People wanted more opportunities to learn or practice Welsh Language
The results were used to influence priorities for the Community Development Team. A direct response to the survey results has been the creation of small grants for community groups to run local and accessible activities. Small grants such as the Neighbourhood Network Fund were developed. This fund has supported hundreds of activities across all communities in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
We are making sure that we are still responding to the needs of our communities, so please let us know what your priorities are by completing the survey below.
We will publish the results throughout the year.
