Building upon the success of Winter Welcome Centres in previous years, Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council is keen to work with community groups and not-for-profit organisations who are interested in registering as a Safe and Warm Space.
Safe and Warm Spaces will vary from venue to venue but will include, as a minimum:
- An accessible, welcoming space for residents of RCT (open access)
- Free hot drinks and snacks (this could extend to a more substantive meal where possible)
- Advice and support for residents
- Activities such as exercise, games, arts & crafts
Safe and Warm Spaces can operate independently, or groups can apply to the RCTCBC Safe and Warm Spaces Fund for a financial contribution up to the value of £1,500.
