The former Rates building in Aberdare is undergoing significant redevelopment to provide new residential and commercial space in the property.

Work will soon begin to create 52 car parking spaces at Treorchy Railway Station, with the Council supporting Transport for Wales to create a new Park and Ride facility. Minimal overall disruption is expected during the work

Cabinet has agreed proposals to standardise waste collections across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

In 2019, no. 26 Hannah Street in Porth was a dilapidated, vacant property. However, Andrew Murrain could see the potential of the property in the heart of the town centre.

In July 2023, RCT's Cabinet approved proposals to redevelop the Rock Grounds Building in Aberdare Town Centre. These plans form part of the adopted Aberdare strategy and will see the Building redeveloped into a high-quality hotel.

The Council is currently progressing plans to redevelop the derelict land on Hannah Street Porth (opposite the Bingo Hall) with a proposal for the space to be turned into a much-needed short-stay car park and landscaped seating area.
