Summer Fun at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience

CBA-Festival-logo-2023

There’s lots going this Summer at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience!  Following on from our popular Archaeology club for kids, for one day only, we’re bringing a Festival of Archaeology to the venue!

On Thursday 27th July, children aged 3-11 will be able to dive into the world of Iron Age Celts.  Activities on offer include making a miniature wattle and daub wall and designing an archaeological tool of the future. There’ll also be a Celtic trail to follow throughout the venue.

There will be two sessions on the day, 10.30 – 12.30 and 1.30 – 3.30.  With only 60 spaces available, booking is advised and tickets can be purchased here.  Adults go free and each child ticket is £3.

Councillor Ann Crimmings, Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Cabinet Member for Environment and Leisure said:

A Welsh Coal Mining Experience is a fantastic tourist attraction and is constantly adding new elements so that visitors can return time and time again and still find new things to discover.  The kids archaeology club has been a great success so it’s fantastic to see this being expanded upon with A Festival of Archaeology.  It’s easy to make a day of it here during the Summer Holidays - the tour guides always make the underground tour fun for all ages and the café has a great kids menu.
