The best gift you can receive, is knowing you have helped a child this Christmas with a donation to our annual Santa Appeal!

Now in its thirteenth year, the Santa Appeal has made a huge difference to thousands of children's lives on Christmas Day. This is only possible thanks to the overwhelming support of people across Rhondda Cynon Taf and beyond!

Every year wonderful residents, businesses, charities, and organisations donate thousands of gifts to children and young people who otherwise may not have a gift to open on Christmas Day.

Thanks to your generosity, all children and young people identified by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council social workers wake up to at least one gift on Christmas Day. Each gift will be thoughtfully selected by you which can include gift card vouchers, if you wish, for the older children on Santa's list!

Supporting the 2025 Santa Appeal is simple – all you have to do is email Santaappeal@rctcbc.gov.uk or call 01443 425025 and tell Santa's Helpers how many children you would like to donate a special something to this Christmas.

You will be given the name and age of a child. The name provided will be an alias to protect the child's identity, but it will represent a real child in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Our Santa Appeal Donation Line opened on November 4. Lines will be open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Tuesday to Friday. The closing date to pledge your support is Friday, December 5, with all gifts needing to be with us by Monday, December 8.

Once you have the name and age of your chosen child or young person, you will be given details of your nearest gift drop off point. All gifts must be in open gift bags and at their collection point by Monday, December 8.

Santa's Helpers will collect your gifts from the various collection points and ensure they are ready and waiting in homes to be opened by children on Christmas Day.

Councillor Sharon Rees, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet Member for Social Care, said: “The Santa Appeal continues to have a profound impact on the lives of young people in our community every Christmas. I’m thrilled that we are able to ensure that children and young people who might otherwise go without a gift can experience the joy of Christmas morning.

“I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has contributed in the past, and to those who plan to donate this year – your kindness truly makes a difference.

“The Santa Appeal has become a beloved tradition in Rhondda Cynon Taf, with thousands of gifts donated and shared with those in need over the years. The generosity of our communities is simply amazing.

“As always, we’re asking for your support this year to help us make this Christmas brighter for those who need it. Every donation, no matter how small, helps spread the Christmas spirit.

“Thanks to your continued generosity, no child will be forgotten this Christmas.”
