How it works
If you a required to live in accommodation provided by an employer as part of your job and you are also liable to pay council tax on another property, you can get a 50% discount on your council tax.
The discount is applied only to the employer provided accommodation that you now live in.
Your second property may also have had an additional charge applied to it that we call a council tax premium. Check if you are eligible for an exemption from the council tax premium on your second property.

You are eligible for a job related discount on a second home if:
- Your are liable for council tax at another property.
- Your employer has provided the property you are claiming a discount for.
- Your contract of employment requires you to live in that property
