What is the Youth Engagement and Participation Service?
Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Youth Engagement and Participation Service (YEPS) is committed to supporting young people aged 11 – 25 years to improve their resilience to deal with current and future life challenges, supporting their wellbeing and their positive engagement in and their contribution to the local communities in which they live.
What the Youth Engagement and Participation Service offers:
The service offers a variety of activities such as:
- Six cluster programmes of open access youth provision located in community venues, delivered in partnership with schools and voluntary sector organisations covering the whole of RCT Wicid . This includes:
- after school activities,
- Friday evening activities,
- weekend events, and,
- holiday programmes;
- 20 established youth clubs throughout RCT, offering open access provision to young people aged 11 – 25, 5pm – 8pm in the Rhondda and West Taff Valleys and Cynon and East Taff Valleys.
- 5 junior youth clubs across RCT, offering open access provision to children aged 9 – 11 years, 3:30pm – 4:45pm
- Individual referral for young people to receive one-to-one support from a youth worker for a specific issue to assist them to build their resilience. Referrals can be made by any agency, a parent or a self-referral download referral form.
- Consultation opportunities for young people to have their voices heard and actively participate in the communities in which they live and contribute to building community resilience.
