RCT’s Housing Solutions Service can offer deposits and rent in advance to individuals, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to secure accommodation in the private rented sector.
There are also Discretionary Housing Payments (DHPs) which are a top-up to benefit to cover a shortfall between Housing Benefit / Universal Credit housing costs and rent and are considered if a person needs extra help with their housing costs. Any payment awarded is made in addition to any Housing Benefit / Universal Credit that has been awarded.
How can landlords access this service?
The Housing Solutions Team deal with requests for support with bond/rent in advance and offer this on a case to case basis.
