Moving Out? TIDY!

Students - Do you want to help your fellow students/local charities and leave your area TIDY at the same time?

The Council has launched a new service where it helps students in the Treforest area to donate their unwanted items to their fellow students or local charity when they move out.

After years of studying, there are likely to be lots of unwanted items lying around that are no longer needed!

The Council is asking students to place the following items in to a clear recycling bag and take it to the advertised collection point on the specified date.

Items accepted include -

  • Books
  • CD's/DVD's
  • Kitchen utensils (inc cutlery, pots and pans)
  • Clothing
  • Unopened dry/tin food

These items will then be redistributed to new students or local charities where possible. Items that are not suitable will be recycled.

A dedicated students recycling awareness officer is now based in the area ready to help students manage their waste appropriately.

Students are also likely to have lots of recyclable at their homes, which can be placed in the FREE clear recycling bags and placed outside their properties on their normal weekly collection day. Students are reminded that there is a limit to the amount of black bag waste that can be placed out for collections – more information on black bag waste (Side Waste)
