Rhondda Cynon Taf Council are consulting on its draft strategy for the regeneration of Porth Town Centre.
The strategy sets out an integrated, co-ordinated and holistic approach to town centre regeneration that takes into account the distinctive role Porth Town Centre has at the heart of the community and its important location for services, employment, housing and transport functions.
The strategy outlines the following vision for the future – “To transform Porth Town Centre into a prosperous and attractive town, which offers a wide range of opportunities for visitors, residents and businesses; anchored by Porth Transport Hub and a much-regenerated Station Quarter.”
The vision is supported by a series of strategic objectives – to develop a Transport Hub to improve connectivity to the Town Centre; to create the conditions for a thriving Station Quarter; to improve key Town Centre gateways and to support the development of housing and job opportunities.
We are very keen to know what people think about the draft Strategy and we are therefore asking many individuals, groups and organisations for their views. To take part in the consultation, please complete the online survey. Alternatively you attend one of the engagement events outlined below; you can also let us know your feedback by e-mailing it to towncentres@rctcbc.gov.uk.
