Work will soon get underway to repair a section of the retaining wall at Berw Road in Pontypridd – with the vast majority of the scheme causing minimal disruption.
The Council has appointed Hammonds Ltd as the contractor for the work, which will take place over six weeks from Thursday, August 17.
The scheme will include clearing vegetation growing behind the wall and from the wall face, reconstructing sections of the structure, and repointing work.
The work activity will not require any traffic management, while pedestrian access will be maintained via the adjacent pavement.
However, Stop/Go traffic boards will be used on occasion for the delivery of materials to the site. These will only last for 15 minutes and will be during off-peak hours.
The scheme is being delivered via the large programme of Storm Dennis repairs in Rhondda Cynon Taf during 2023/24, wholly funded by Welsh Government.
Separate repair works are also planned at another section of the Berw Road wall, located further north.
These are being planned for later in the summer – the Council will communicate the details in due course.
Thanks to local residents for your cooperation during the upcoming work.
