Essential work to repair a river retaining wall at the northern section of Berw Road, Pontypridd, will begin next week – with two-way traffic flow being maintained.
The Council has appointed Kaymac Marine and Civil Engineering Ltd as the contractor to carry out the scheme, which will start on Monday, November 6.
Work is expected to last around four weeks, and will carry out local repairs to the masonry wall next to the river – which includes rebuilding a small section of the structure.
The work location is opposite Berw Road Field, between Berw Road’s junctions with Lewis Terrace and Graigyrhesg Road.
The contractor is able to maintain two-way traffic flow during the scheme, but will use Stop/Go boards occasionally to facilitate site deliveries. These will last no longer than 30 minutes at a time, and will be scheduled outside of peak hours to minimise disruption.
A temporary suspension of the parking bays on the opposite side of the work site on Berw Road will be in place throughout.
The scheme is being delivered via the programme of Storm Dennis repairs in 2023/24, wholly funded by Welsh Government.
Thanks to residents and road users in advance for your cooperation.
