There is currently an Amber Weather Warning for strong winds in place until 20:00 today (Tuesday, 2nd January), alongside a Yellow Weather Warning for rain which is in place until 21:00 due to Storm Henk. Both Warnings cover the Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough area.
For the duration of both concurrent Weather Warnings, we are urging residents and businesses to remain alert and vigilant and to take extra care if undertaking essential journeys.
If you do have to travel, then please take extra care and drive to the conditions, allowing extra space between vehicles and extra time for journeys.
Delays are possible at times, along with disruption to public transport. Surface spray, flooding, power failure, fallen trees/structures and road closures are also possible in some areas of the County Borough.
The Council has additional resources working and Highways teams have been proactively monitoring drains and culverts over recent days following prior Weather events.
If you have any issues, please call the Council’s Emergency Out Of Hours number 01443 425011.
Also, please follow the Met Office and the Council’s social media accounts for all the latest updates.
