Baby Swim Sessions

Splashtastic news for Rhondda Cynon Taf’s youngest residents – brand new Baby Swim sessions are arriving at a Leisure for Life centre near you soon!

The fun swims offer babies and toddlers (and their parents or carers!) the chance to enjoy safe and entertaining sessions in the water, building confidence and getting the tots used to being in a pool.

There are colourful water toys and games and even baby friendly music and nursery rhymes playing in the background.

The sessions build on a successful pilot held by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Sport RCT team in October to mark Baby Swim Week. They were such a success, Sport RCT and Leisure for Life have joined forces to make them a permanent fixture on swimming pool timetables.

Baby Swim sessions are aimed at babies and toddlers aged from three months to four years old. Running for around an hour, they have fun, colourful toys and games and music to help parents or carers and the baby build confidence in the water. Please be aware, they are not instructor-led sessions.

The new sessions will take place as per the below:

  •  Monday: Rhondda Sports Centre, Ystrad, from 9.30am – 10.30am
  •  Tuesday: Llantrisant Leisure Centre from 11am – 12pm
  • Tuesday: Bronwydd Swimming Pool 10am – 11am
  • Wednesday: Rhondda Sports Centre, Ystrad, from 9.30am – 10.30am
  • Thursday: Ferndale Swimming Pool, from 1pm - 2pm
  • Thursday: Sobell Leisure Centre, Aberdare, from 11am – 12pm
  • Thursday: Tonyrefail Leisure Centre, from 1pm – 2pm
  • Friday: Abercynon Sports Centre, from 11am – 12pm

Baby Swim sessions are £5.45 per family unit (two adults, one baby or toddler) or free if you are a Leisure for Life member.
