Residents may notice work activity taking place at Gynor Place in Ynyshir from next week, as part of the next stage of investigations to inform a future wall repair scheme.
The retaining wall beneath Gynor Place has become damaged – and around two weeks of work will take place from Tuesday, May 6, towards the design of a future remediation programme.
The Council has appointed Jackson Geotechnical Services Ltd as the main contractor to carry out next week’s site activity.
This will include a ground investigation survey, requiring material samples to be extracted from the retaining wall.
Local traffic management will be required to safely proceed, closing off one side of the road over a short distance.
No traffic lights are therefore needed – road users can pass the work site at their discretion when the road is clear.
This is the second phase of investigations to inform the future scheme at Gynor Place, after four trial trenches were dug within the carriageway during late July and early August 2024.
The main works scheme will be delivered in the future via the Council’s capital programme funding.
Thanks to local residents in advance for your cooperation.
