Residents are reminded that a road closure is needed at Hannah Street in Porth this Sunday, as part of the ongoing regeneration scheme to bring a derelict area of land back into use.
The scheme got underway on February 3 – to provide extra parking spaces for the town centre, some green space, and public seating. Further details about the work can be found here.
While most of the work will take place within the site boundary at 37 Hannah Street, a single-day road closure is needed on Sunday, February 9, to enable drainage works.
Hannah Street will close between its junctions with Pontypridd Road and 65 Hannah Street, along with two adjacent sections of unnamed roads. A map of the closure area is included here.
An alternative route for motorists is via Pontypridd Road, and the temporary one-way system between 11 Pontypridd Road and 66 Hannah Street, also shown on the above map.
This temporary one-way system will be in a north-easterly direction only – to enable vehicles to access the north-western section of Hannah Street. All arrangements will be clearly signposted.
Access for emergency services will not be maintained, but access will be maintained for pedestrians and to premises.
Thanks to the community in advance for your cooperation.
