Important works to embankment and wall in Ynysybwl

Residents are advised that a series of works will shortly be undertaken at Clydach Terrace in Ynysybwl, which will require traffic management to ensure safety.

The scheme will build an additional section of wall alongside the raised footway, undertake embankment heightening works above the highway, and carry out isolated repairs to the highway wall.

Contractors Hammond ECS Ltd and Calibre Contracting Ltd have been appointed to carry out the range of works, on behalf of the Council.

The scheme is estimated to last around five weeks in total, starting from Wednesday, July 23.

Temporary two-way traffic lights will be in operation along the length of Clydach Terrace during the daytime, reverting to a shorter length overnight – while there will also be measures in place to manage pedestrian access. The availability of on-street parking will also likely be affected during the works.

Residents living near to the works location have received a letter from the Council to explain the scheme and the arrangements in further detail.

The Council will work closely with both of its appointed contractors to ensure disruption to residents is minimised.

Thanks in advance to the community for your cooperation.
