Upgraded flood resilience works to begin on Turberville Road

Turbeville rd 2

Work to increase capacity and provide upgraded resilience to flooding on Turbeville Road, Ynyshir, will start on Tuesday, July 1, and is expected to last until March 2026. The work has been jointly funded by the Council and Welsh Government under the Welsh Government Major Pipeline Schemes.

The project in Ynyshir will deliver a series of improvements that consists of upgrading the existing drainage network to increase the capacity and reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

Works will take place on the following streets, please note that the timeframes have the potential to change:

  • Works on Turberville Road will run from July to September and will require a road closure – residents will still be able to park outside properties except for houses 105, 107 and 108.

  • Works on Aber-Rhondda Road will run from September to October and will require temporary lights.

  • Works on Packers Road will run from October to December and will require a road closure.

  • Works on Aldergrove Road will run from December to February and will require a road closure.

Diversion routes will be signposted.

Pedestrian access will be maintained to all properties throughout the duration of the works and public transport will run as normal with a ‘soft’ closure on Turberville Road, meaning that the bus will turn prior to entering Turberville Road and will drop residents at the end where Turberville Road meets Troedyrhiw Road.

Thanks to the community in advance for your cooperation as these works are delivered.
