Temporary bus arrangements for emergency road closure in Taffs Well

temporary-bus-arrangements

The Council has organised a FREE shuttle bus service between Taffs Well and Nantgarw, in response to an emergency road closure required by Welsh Water.

A burst water main at A4054 Cardiff Road, south of Taffs Well, has occurred just outside of the Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough boundary.

A road closure has therefore been implemented by Cardiff Council along A4054 Cardiff Road, from its junction with the B4262 at the Taffs Well Interchange to the County Borough boundary.

An alternative route for motorists, from the northern side of the closure, is via Cardiff Road, Oxford Roundabout, Nantgarw Interchange, A470 (southbound) and Taffs Well Roundabout. From the southern side of the closure, proceed via A470 (southbound), Coryton Roundabout, A470 (northbound), Nantgarw Interchange, Oxford Street Roundabout, and Cardiff Road.

The emergency road closure is expected to remain in place until Friday (March 28).

Rhondda Cynon Taf Council has arranged for a shuttle bus to operate between Taffs Well Railway Station to the Cross Keys bus stops at Caerphilly Road in Nantgarw.

The shuttle bus is now in operation, and it is a FREE service being run by Bella Road Services.

At Caerphilly Road, the shuttle bus will link with several local services for onward travel – Stagecoach Service 26 (Cardiff-Blackwood) and Service 132 (Cardiff-Maerdy), as well as the Edwards Coaches Cardiff to Gwaunmiskin service.

The full shuttle bus timetable up until Friday is included here.

Thanks to local communities for your cooperation.
