Two weeks of work are required to repair a wall at Ynysybwl Road, on the section between Pontypridd and Glyncoch, requiring temporary traffic lights to proceed safely.
The scheme will rectify damage to the pictured structure following a previous road traffic collision, and will start from Tuesday, May 27 – following the peak morning travel period.
Work will include raking out and repointing specific areas of the wall, and reinstating copings at the damaged sections.
Localised areas of the wall will also be demolished and rebuilt where needed, while sections of the railings will be reset.
A closure of the northbound lane will be needed to ensure safety for road users and the workforce.
This will be managed by temporary two-way traffic lights that will be manually controlled at peak times to minimise disruption.
The adjacent footway will also be closed – however, an alternative route for pedestrians will be accommodated within the lane closure area.
The Council has appointed Spectrum Construction Services Ltd as the contractor to deliver the work on site. The scheme is being delivered using Council revenue funding.
Thanks to local residents and road users for your cooperation.
