The Council is providing an update on the timescale for the proposed demolition work for the future Pontypridd Police Station and Berw Road Car park site, following several enquiries.
Site notices have recently been published, indicating that the proposed start date for the buildings’ demolition is June 12. We’d like to clarify that this date is only an indication of the earliest possible start date and does not mean that works are scheduled to begin exactly from that date.
There is currently no confirmed start date for the demolition.
As with all projects of this nature, site notices are part of the due process to allow work to commence when all preparatory steps, approvals and programme arrangements are in place.
The Council has requested that its project team and development consultants update the site notices to provide this clarity.
A further progress report for the next stage of the project, including a start date for the demolition, will be shared with residents and businesses in due course.
