Overnight works on the Church Village Bypass for footbridge works

Please note, a section of the Church Village Bypass will need to close on consecutive nights for essential maintenance of two footbridges. 

The section of the A473 bypass between Nant Dowlais Roundabout and Nant Celyn Roundabout will be closed – as shown on the following map.

This will take place from 7pm on Tuesday, April 7, (ending by 4am on Wednesday), and will be repeated from 7pm on Wednesday, April 8, (ending by 4am on Thursday).

Road closures are needed to inspect and clean two footbridges that span the road, to ensure safety for the workforce and motorists. Working at night will greatly minimise disruption.

An alternative route for motorists will be via Crown Hill, Llantrisant Road, B4595, Main Road and Station Road – or this route in reverse order. This route is included on the above map.

Hammond ECS Ltd is the appointed contractor to undertake the works.

Access will be maintained throughout for emergency services, pedestrians, and to premises.
