Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s award-winning Apprenticeship Scheme is now open for applications, offering you the chance to earn, learn and build a successful career within local government.
The Council has a strong track record of creating high-quality employment opportunities, with hundreds of apprentices supported since the scheme began in 2012. In recent years alone, more than 170 individuals have benefited from hands-on experience, training and development through the programme.
The two-year, paid apprenticeship placements provide a valuable route into employment, combining practical, on-the-job experience with industry-recognised qualifications. Apprentices also benefit from staff perks, dedicated support and the opportunity to develop essential workplace skills.
A wide range of apprenticeship roles are available across Council services this year, reflecting the range of careers on offer, from engineering and surveying to business support, environmental services and more!

The scheme has an excellent success rate, with the majority of apprentices completing their qualifications and progressing into employment or further learning opportunities.
RCT Council’s Apprenticeship Scheme is open to anyone aged 16 and over, with no upper age limit, making it an accessible pathway for school leavers, career changers and those looking to upskill.
