Local road closures during 90s Summer Party event in Pontypridd

Pontypridd 90s summer party

Residents and visitors to Pontypridd are advised about a series of town centre road closures that will be in place to ensure safety during the 90s Summer Party.

A large attendance is expected for the Council’s flagship summer event, taking place at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park on Saturday, August 22.

Road closures encompassing the majority of the town centre will therefore be in place from 3pm to 5pm, and then from 9pm to half past midnight. These are anticipated to be the busiest periods when people will be entering and leaving the park, and the road closures will be in place to ensure safety.

Please note, no traffic management will be taking place at Berw Road, as part of the police station/car park demolition scheme, over this weekend.

The roads that will be closed include Taff Street (Crossbrook Street through to High Street, to the junction with Sardis Road), Penuel Lane, Gas Road, Temperance Place, Market Street, Church Street and Mill Street. The closure area is shown on the following map.

Gas Road Car Park will remain open and will be accessible as usual.

An alternative route for motorists, also shown on the map, will be via Crossbrook Street, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street, Sardis Road Gyratory, and Sardis Road.

Access will be maintained for emergency services, pedestrians, and to premises.

Full event details can be found on the 90s Summer Party section of the What’s On RCT website.

Thanks to residents and visitors for your cooperation throughout.
