Young people across Rhondda Cynon Taf have been receiving their AS, A Level, Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate and Level 3 vocational qualifications results today (Thursday, August 13), with many gaining University places to further their educational studies.
Among those congratulating the successful learners and school staff was Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Young People, Councillor Sharon Rees, and the Council’s Director of Education and Inclusion Services, Marium Haque .
Councillor Sharon Rees, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council Cabinet Member for Education and Young People, said: “On behalf of the Council, I would like to extend our congratulations to every young person as they celebrate the end of all their hard work, and to the school staff who have worked tirelessly to achieve the outcomes of today.
“We are looking forward to seeing what they achieve in their next steps, whether that be university or employment.”
Dr Marium Haque, Director of Education and Inclusion Services for Rhondda Cynon Taf Council, said: “Congratulations to all of the young people receiving their A level results today. These achievements are the result of an enormous amount of hard work, commitment and perseverance, and everyone should be extremely proud.
“I would also like to recognise the dedication of our teachers, support staff and families, whose encouragement and guidance have played such an important role in helping our young people reach this milestone.

The Council rightly recognises all the positive achievements of Rhondda Cynon Taf’s schools and young people, with many securing university admissions, further education places, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their lives.
