A series of important repairs have now been completed to the boundary wall at Llwynypia Road in Tonypandy. The structure provides support to the monument garden above it.
Works got underway in early December 2025 and was completed in two phases of work. The overall scheme has now been completed ahead of schedule.
The first phase before Christmas rebuilt the southern pier and front face of the wall. The second phase in the New Year has rebuilt the northern section of the wall and the steps.
As part of the works, the handrail has also been improved, while vegetation clearance has been undertaken where needed.
All footway closures near the structure have been lifted following completion of the works, while parking bay arrangements have returned to normal.
These works were delivered through the Council’s revenue budget, and were delivered by the appointed contractor Hammond ECS Ltd.
