The 2026 RCT Events calendar is here! We are pleased to announce a jam-packed line up of events this year with some returning favourites and some new events that are sure to get you excited…

New for 2026 – RCT 90’s Summer Party

Join us in Ynysangharad War Memorial Park this summer as we get the party started with all your 90’s floor fillers and classics. On Saturday 22nd August, prepare to pop back to the 90’s and party with:

Heather Small: Soul singer and lead vocalist of M People, renowned for classics such as ‘moving on up’, ‘one night in Heaven’ and who could forget, ‘Proud’.

Kenny Thomas: With eight UK top 40 singles including “Thinking About your Love” and “Best of You”

East 17: Topping the charts in several countries, East 17 were a staple band on everyone’s playlist in the 90’s and who could forget their biggest hit “Stay Another Day”

Whigfield: On this “Saturday night”, prepare to bust you’re your best dance moves as we all dance along to Whigfield

S Club: There ain’t no party like an S Club party! Join Jo and Jon as they bring hit after hit “Don’t Stop Moving” and “Reach”

Easter Egg-Stravaganza – Rhondda Heritage Park Museum – 1st & 2nd April

Join the egg hunt this Easter with our popular Easter hunt! With a fun fair, crafts, and the bunny’s underground burrow adventure! The perfect day out for your little ones. Further information and tickets will be available soon via A Welsh Coal Mining Experience | Rhondda Heritage Park, Museum of Welsh Mining.

Aberdare Festival – 23rd May – Aberdare Park

Returning to Aberdare park, join us for an unforgettable family day out! Filled with fun and laughter as you wizz around the fun fair, soak up the atmosphere, visit the stalls and enjoy the free entertainment that’ll be on offer. Some of the top UK tribute acts will appear on our stage, this is one not to be missed.

Armed Forces Day Picnic in the Park 20th June 2026 – Ynysangharad War Memorial Park

Celebrate Armed Forces Day at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park in Pontypridd with a community picnic for all ages. Enjoy live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and the chance to show your appreciation for our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families. Bring a picnic, relax in the park, and join us for a day of remembrance, community, and celebration at the Bandstand.

Classic Car Show – 27th June – Rhondda Heritage Park

Make a pit stop at Rhondda Heritage park and visit our Annual Classic Car Show in partnership with Glamorgan Classic Car Club. Theres so much to see and do for all ages, while visiting, why not ‘take a ride’ on the DRAM? Part of the Black Gold Underground Experience.

Big Welsh Bite – 1st & 2nd August – Ynysangharad War Memorial Park

The Big Welsh Bite is BACK and will be as mouthwatering as ever… with over 60 food and drink traders, craft stalls, information stalls, large fun fair, arena shows and more, make sure to add this one to the diary.

Halloween Spooktacular – 28th – 30th October – Rhondda Heritage Park

Get the chills this Halloween at Rhondda Heritage Park! We’re back this year with THREE days of spooky fun for all the family including the abandoned underground mine and a host of ghoulish activities, come along for our daytime or twilight sessions.

Festival of Remembrance Concert –  1st November

The beginning of November is a time for remembrance as services and concerts are held all over the country to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts.

Remembrance Sunday – 8th November – Ynysangharad War Memorial Park

Commemorate the service and sacrifice of all those who fought to defend our freedoms in World Wars and later conflicts with a parade around Ynysangharad War memorial park, followed by a service at the war memorial.

Santa’s Toy Mine – 21st Nov – 24th Dec – Rhondda Heritage Park

Santa’s annual visit to the Rhondda Heritage park is always the most wonderful time of the year. Get ready for a magical underground adventure, meet and greet and more running right up until Christmas Eve! Tickets will go on sale in September and will sell out FAST so keep an eye on our website and social media for announcements!

Christmas Town Centre Events – Nov – Dec

The magic of Christmas returns to RCTCBC town centres this Christmas and we’ll be ready to light up our towns with activities and fun for all the family! Will you be there? Dates and locations will be released closer to the time!

Nos Galan – 31st Dec – Mountain Ash

This spectacular year of events comes to an end at the annual Nos Galan Road Races. There’s something for everyone with our children’s, elite or fun races, or you can come and spectate as thousands take to the streets at this one-of-a-kind event! Following the legend of Guto Nyth Brân, this will be the 68th annual event full of fireworks, fun and of course, our mystery runner! Registration to take part will open in September 2026, so keep your eyes peeled!

Councillor Scott Emanuel, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “The 2026 events calendar is packed with lots of familiar favourites alongside our brand new RCT 90’s Summer Party! There is so much on offer, and we hope that even more people will join us this year to enjoy the range of fantastic events we have to offer here in Rhondda Cynon Taf. I’m looking forward to another year of fantastic entertainment in 2026!”
