Please be advised that works are underway to deliver targeted drainage improvements in Miskin, MountainAsh, centred around pipe lining works at Llanwonno Road, using Welsh Government funding.
The scheme will upgrade the existing drainage network by carrying out a series of structural lining and manhole repairs over the next eight weeks.
Temporary traffic lights are required at specific points of the scheme, to safely undertake the improvement works.
Firstly, this will be focused at Llanwonno Road, near its junction with Arthur Street, from Wednesday, January 14. Traffic managements at this location will last around two weeks.
Secondly, the scheme will progress to Bush Road, where temporary traffic lights and a footway closure will be in place from Monday, February 9, for around one week.
The RCT Streetcare Team will undertake the works, alongside the appointed sub-contractor Arch Utilities.
The works are being funded through the Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management programme.
In total, the Council has secured more than £6 million from Welsh Government for flood alleviation work in 2025/26, across the Small Scale Works Grant, the Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Programme, and the Resilient Roads Fund – often using a match funding contribution from the Council.
Thanks to the local community for your cooperation as these works are completed.
