Please be advised, the Llanwonno Mountain Road will need to be closed from Tuesday morning until Friday evening (June 16-19) for emergency carriageway repairs.
The road will close from Blaenllechau Road/Commercial Street in the Rhondda Fach to a point near St Gwynno’s Church and Brynfynnon at Llanwonno – as shown on the map.
The closure will enable the road repairs to be safely carried out – starting from 8am on Tuesday, June 16, and finishing by the end of the day on Friday, June 19. This will be a continuous closure for the four days of work, with the route remaining closed during both the days and nights.
An alternative route for motorists is available via Bryn Ffynon to Llanwonno Road, Pleasant View, Heol-Y-Mynach, Clydach Road, Clydach Terrace, New Road, Ynysybwl Road, Berw Road, Gelliwastad Road, Catherine Street, A4058, A4233 to Ferndale, Station Road and Commercial Street. This route is also shown on the map, linked to above.
Access will be maintained for emergency services and to premises, including residential properties on Blaenllechau Road.
