Initial works to inform future bridge repairs in Taffs Well

Glan y Llyn

Residents may notice work activity next week at the pictured bridge in Taffs Well, as investigations will be undertaken to inform a future refurbishment scheme.

The Glan-y-Llyn Railway Bridge carries Moy Road over the former railway line, which is used as a shared pedestrian and cycle path.

Concrete testing will take place from Monday, March 9, lasting around a week in total – with minimal disruption expected locally.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be maintained on Moy Road, while pedestrian and cycle access beneath the bridge will be unaffected.

The investigations will be completed by Council contractor Construction Testing Solutions, which will use a mobile work platform and scaffolding.

The work is essential to inform the design of concrete repairs planned for a major refurbishment scheme in the future.

This initial activity is being funded through the Council’s ongoing Highways Capital Programme. Thanks to the community for your cooperation.
