Important information for motorists about road closure at Llanwonno

Residents are advised about a road closure at the Llanwonno Mountain Road from Monday to Wednesday next week, to undertake emergency culvert works. 

The location of the closure is from Bryn Fynnon to Llanwonno Road, north east of the junction at Llanwonno – for a distance of around 265-metres, as shown on the following map.

The closure is needed to carry out emergency culvert drainage repairs, and will be carried out by Council contractor Hammond ECS Ltd.

The work is expected to last three days in total – from Monday, May 18, to Wednesday, May 20. The alternative route will be signposted for motorists, and is also shown on the above link.

This route is via unnamed roads (Bryn Ffynnon to Llanwonno Road and Bryn Ffynon to Pen-Y-Wal Road), Pen-y-Wal Road, Graigwen Road, Graigwen Place, Thomas Street, Gelliwastad Grove, Gelliwastad Road, Morgan Street, Bridge Street, Berw Road, Ynysybwl Road, New Road, Robert Street, Windsor Place, Clydach Terrace, Clydach Road, Old Ynysybwl Road, Heol-y-Mynach, Pleasant View, Pleasant View to Llanwonno Road and the unnamed road (Bryn Ffynnon to Llanwonno Road).

Due to the nature and location of the works, access cannot be maintained for emergency services, pedestrians, nor to premises.
