As of the 1st April 2026, a Childcare and Play training guide has been created that incorporates all Rhondda Cynon Taf’s Childcare and Play training into one place.
The guide includes training from the following teams:
- Universal Childcare Team
- Flying Start team
- REP team
- Speech and language team
- Access and Inclusion team
- Multi Agency (MAT) team
- RCT Play services
To access funded training you MUST be working within a CIW registered childcare setting or a RCT commissioned Play provider.
Within the training guide you will find information on all training courses being offered, and each course will be clearly marked as to whether it relates to specialist training for Flying Start providers only, or if training courses are open to all settings.
Please refer to the training guide when you are booking your space, as the guide will clearly indicate the booking process.
Please note:
- Mandatory training is administered via the RCT Childcare Team
- Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training is administered by Flying Start team
Training run by other teams will have their own booking criteria.

This guide contains all currently scheduled training for the financial year, and will be updated termly. It is important that you check each termly guide as dates may change, or additional sessions may be added, depending on funding available.
