We may be able to provide free transport for some learners aged 16 to 19 who are continuing their education after Year 11.
There is no legal requirement for councils to provide post-16 transport. However, Rhondda Cynon Taf offers transport for eligible learners attending approved college courses.
Who can get free transport?
You may be eligible if you:
- Live in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
- Are aged 16 to 18 at the start of the academic year.
- Attend your nearest college campus for an approved full-time course.
- Live 3 miles walking distance or more from the school or college.

Please note:
- Applications are usually assessed within 21 days.
- Updates will only be sent to the email address provided on the application.
- Check your spam or junk folder if you do not receive a response.
- Applications for the next academic year will be processed before August.
Note - Do not submit another application if you have already applied online, unless your address or course has changed.
