Report FD/23206, 8th to 14th Nov:

  • Includes samples collected from all monitoring locations;
  • Covers period post commencement of soil stripping and bund construction;
  • Dust deposition levels at both Location D4 (upwind on-site location) and Location D1A (downwind on-site location) were within the ranges recorded during the baseline sampling at 63 mg/m2/day and 59 mg/m2/day respectively. Both well below the threshold of 200 mg/m2/day;
  • Dust deposition levels at Location D5 and Location D6 (off-site locations) were both well below the threshold of 200 mg/m2/day at 13 mg/m2/day and 8 mg/m2/day respectively;
  • %EAC/day results were well below the 0.5% EAC/day threshold in all sectors at Locations D1A, D5, and D6.
  • %EAC/day was above the 0.5%EAC threshold in the northeast and east sectors at on-site upwind Location D4, at 1.2% and 0.8% EAC/day respectively. However this did not coincide with elevated dust deposition which was low at 63 mg/m3/day.

Summary

Dust deposition levels were below the threshold of 200 mg/m2/day at all locations with levels at the off-site locations representative of receptors being well below the thresholds. Elevated %EAC was recorded in two sectors at D4. However this forms an upwind location within the site boundary and is not representative of receptors. The elevated %EAC did not coincide with elevated dust deposition at this location.

This round of monitoring forms the last weekly monitoring during the soil stripping and bund construction works. A report will be produced collating all the results over this soil stripping and bund construction period.

Monitoring has now reverted to monthly and subsequent reporting will be carried out at intervals not exceeding three months, as is provided for in the approved Dust Management and Monitoring Plan.
