Local land charges personal search

It is the responsibility of the person carrying out the Personal Search to identify the land/property and to make any note of the information held on the Register.

Any person may make a personal search of the Local Land Charges Register. The Council requires the following information:

• the name of the person or company carrying out the personal search
• address/area of land against which the personal search is to be made

We currently operate a scheme whereby we require a minimum of 48 hours notice to carry out a Personal Search. A plan is required 48 hours in advance and a certificate is not issued. A maximum of four searches can be carried out in each 30 minute appointment slot. Appointments can be made between 9:30-12:00 and 13:00-15:30 Monday to Thursday.

The above regulations are effective from 6th April 2009.
