Williamstown Primary School opened on a new site in Penrhiwfer in 2011 and was designed to replace the outdated facilities at the former school.

The new school replaced the old school with a new 12 classroom facility incorporating landscaped playground spaces, a new sports field and a dedicated special educational needs unit. Community facilities were fully integrated and the school houses dual use community changing facilities with direct access to a new, relocated football pitch and parking area.
