School visits provide a valuable opportunity for pupils to encounter experiences which are not available to them in the classroom.
They can enable pupils to develop initiative, resourcefulness and independence.
However, it is essential that all such visits are carried out with the highest regard for the safety and welfare of pupils.
Guidelines have been developed to provide helpful and practical advice to Governing Bodies, Head teachers and Teachers in the organisation of school visits.
The Welsh Government guidelines can be viewed and specific guidance has been issued to all schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
