Count down to April 2026 when we release our school survey.
The School Sport Survey uses pupil voice to provide an invaluable level of insight that can be used to positively influence every child's health and wellbeing. By completing the survey you will have access to a range of data specific to your school around the health and wellbeing of your pupils. This will allow you to identify areas of strength and target areas in which you can improve and have the greatest impact on the physical activity levels of your pupils. Our team can support you to complete the survey and develop projects based on your report.
The School Sport Survey will be open from Monday 13 April 2026 to Friday 17 July 2026. Pupils in Years 3-11 can take part using their school’s unique survey link, which will be sent directly to schools from Sport Wales.
Full instructions, survey links, and details on how to qualify for a unique school report will be sent to schools on 13 April 2026.
Why your school should take part
Taking part in the School Sport Survey offers clear benefits for your school and your learners. The survey fully supports the Curriculum for Wales, helping schools reflect on and understand:
- What sports and activities pupils enjoy
- What they’d like more opportunities to try
- Where they enjoy being active
- How they feel when taking part in sport and physical activity
Every participating school receives a school specific data report, helping you plan and shape your sport and physical activity offer based on real pupil voice.
The survey also gathers valuable information on:
- Local facility availability
- Potential links with community clubs
- Other local resources that can strengthen your school’s approach
Nationally, the findings help guide key decisions made by Sport Wales and the Welsh Government on future investment in sport and vital facilities.
