Located in the historic village of Penderyn in the foothills of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Penderyn Distillery produces award-winning single malt whiskies and spirits which are made using the site’s own supply of fresh natural spring water and sold all over the world.
Tour information
Penderyn’s award winning Visitor Centre welcomes thousands of visitors annually. During the hour long tour, visitors learn about the founding of Penderyn and see how the award winning whisky is made and what makes it so unique. The tour culminates with a visit to the tasting bar where the Penderyn products can be sampled.
Whisky and Chocolate Tour
Penderyn Distillery occasionally presents an exciting variation on the standard tour where the distillers pair the award winning single malt whiskies with delicious hand-made chocolates from Chocolate House at the Welsh Mining Experience.
Distillery Masterclass
For whisky enthusiasts Penderyn recommends their Distillery Masterclass. This fully interactive experience offers an in-depth look into the making of the award-winning Single Malt Welsh Whisky. Enjoy a fully guided tour giving you an insight into the equipment that produces the malted barley wash; uniquely designed single copper-pot Penderyn stills and the pot stills. As well as imparting knowledge and experience on the importance of wood and the art of maturation, visitors will enjoy a fun and informative blind nosing activity and learn the protocol of whisky tasting.
The Masterclass lasts around 2.5 hours. In order to fully appreciate the Masterclass session, we strongly advise that participants do not plan to drive afterwards. Each attendee will receive a gift after their Masterclass.
Private Group Evening Tours
Introduced by popular demand evening distillery tours are by appointment only, and available to parties of 10-20. The price includes a gift.
