What's On at the Big Welsh Bite

There's lots to see, do and EAT at the Big Welsh Bite!

Food, Food, Food!
From loaded nachos to mouthwatering desserts, there is something to tickle everyone’s tastebuds. Head over to the food and drink village for an array for street food and traditional treats. Vegan and gluten free offers are also on the menu.

Live Cookery Demonstrations

There is something on the menu for everyone as we welcome back resident Chef to the Big Welsh Bite Geoff Tookey who will be cooking up a storm with easy and affordable recipes you can do at home.

Also joining us this year we welcome Food For Thought UK, who thought their sustainable and vegan cooking will aim to inspire you to think before you cook.

And swapping the rugby pitch for the cooking hob we welcome Welsh Rugby sensation and Celebrity Master Chef contestant Alun Wyn Jones! Appearing on Sunday 2nd August, Alyn Wyn Jones will take to the kitchen for a truly unique cookery demonstration.

Beer garden
Soak up the atmosphere in our licenced beer garden featuring locally brewed cider, gin, ale, lager and hand-crafted cocktails. Enjoy a tipple on site in this designated area or purchase sealed units to take home and enjoy!

Craft and information stalls
From beautiful handmade gifts to unique and quirky crafts, there’s something for everyone in our craft village. Here, you will also find an array of charity, information and support services from support to healthy eating, to how you can get involved in community organisations in your area

Street Entertainment
Keep an eye throughout the weekend for our taller than life Chefs and mischief makers wandering the festival site. Don’t forget to grab a selfie with the giant stilt-walking chef!

All the fun of the fair
Hold on tight as you take a spin on the teacups or whiz around on the runaway train ride. Before you fill up on all the food, see how high you can bounce on the trampolines! The Big Welsh Bite Fun Fair is always a favourite!

And there’s more…

Head on over to our arena area for more FREE entertainment from Birds of Prey, Scurry dogs, local street dance groups and festival favourite Jonny Russel for two days of family entertainment.

On Sunday 2nd August, the Bandstand will also play host to Pontypridd Jazz Festival, following a week of live music in and around Pontypridd.

This all adds up to a mouthwatering  weekend of family-friendly fun in the beautiful surrounds of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, Pontypridd. The Big Welsh Bite is a summer highlight not to be missed!
