Learning needs mainstream learning support class provision within RCT

Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) County Borough Council wishes to seek the views of a wide range of stakeholders on proposals for the enhancement of mainstream Learning Support Class (LSC) provision within RCT

The proposals will address capacity pressures in relation to pupils with significant ALN in the Early Years, Social Communication Needs / Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the Primary Phase and Complex Learning Difficulties in the Secondary Phase, reduce the number of transitions necessary for pupils accessing Primary Phase Social Communication Needs/ ASD LSC provision and ensure a higher number of LSCs are situated within 21^st Century School environments. The proposal is made in accordance with the Welsh Government’s School Organisation Code – 2018 (011/2018).
