The Altered Images project is made possible with The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Using money raised by National Lottery players, The National Lottery Heritage Fund supports projects that connect people and communities with the UK’s heritage. Thanks to National Lottery players, we have been able to produce this draft Heritage Strategy and offer a three-year activity programme which focusses on connecting our communities with their local heritage.
The Council's heritage assets have the potential to revitalise its communities, to bolster local pride and build sustainable economic growth.
This Draft strategy seeks to create heritage output that is an inclusive expression of the heritage of our area. The draft strategy was informed by engagement with almost one thousand residents and seeks to place local knowledge and interests as its central focus.
Over the next five years we will seek to identify and celebrate the importance of RCT’s heritage and provide ways to protect and enhance it. We will also consider how best to use our heritage for the benefit of the community, visitors and the local economy.
The consultation closed on the 25th September 2024.
