Based on national assessment of present-day risk, Pentre is identified as the highest risk community in Wales for surface water and ordinary watercourse flood risk. The 2020 flooding events have further identified Pentre as a priority area to undertake flood alleviation works.
The Pentre Flood Alleviation Scheme aims to develop and deliver a programme of flood alleviation measures in accordance with Welsh Government Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management business case guidance and the Future Generations of Wales Act to reduce the risk of flooding.
To date, the RCT appointed consultant RPS has screened and analysed several options, undertaking a technical and economic appraisal. This process has produced a preferred option for further development.
During this consultation, all stakeholders will have the opportunity to review details of the preferred option online and to attend an in-person consultation to be held at the Canolfan in Pentre (on the 29th and 30th of June 2023). The project team will deliver scheduled presentations in order to provide a concise overview of the proposal and answer questions from attendees.
Presentations will take place at the following times on both days:
Daytime: 12:30 and 13:30
Evening: 16:00, 17:00 and 18:00
Should you wish to attend a scheduled presentation, please RSVP by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone (01443 425014) to avoid disappointment and assist the project team with managing capacity at the venue.
Officers from the project team will be on hand to discuss the proposal and consultation materials throughout the duration of the consultation exhibitions, from 11am to 7pm.
Paper copies of the consultation questionnaire will be available to collect from the Canolfan Community Hub throughout the consultation.
Your feedback and comments are important to us, we look forward to hearing from you.
The consultation will be closed on the 17th July 2023.
