Cwrt Yr Osaf

This modern accommodation in Graig opened in 2021 on the former Pontypridd Magistrates’ Court site, and has provided 60 new extra care beds with Linc Cymru, modern amenities, and a Council-run day centre. The site remains popular with residents and the wider community.

Cwrt Yr Orsaf WelcomeThe exciting development off Union Street was delivered in partnership with Linc Cymru, and became the County Borough’s third extra care facility at the time (after Ty Heulog in Talbot Green and Maesyffynnon in Aberaman). It brought the unused former Magistrates’ Court site back into use.

The 60 new apartments comprise of 56 one-bed and four two-beds, while the wider development includes dining and lounge areas, a communal kitchen, a hair salon, a 31-space car park, communal landscaped gardens and a day care unit. The existing site access was widened as part of construction work.

Construction of Pontypridd's new Extra Care facility now complete (October 2021)

Like all extra care schemes, residents are offered 24/7 on-site support for their assessed needs, enabling them to live independently for as long as possible.

Cwrt yr Orsaf was delivered in late 2021, despite the significant challenges of the pandemic. The scheme benefitted from important funding from Welsh Government’s Integrated Care Fund towards its delivery.
