Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to announce the return of events to our parks, town centres and tourist attractions for 2022.
In addition to annual favourites such as the Big Welsh Bite food festival, Nos Galan Road Races and Santa’s Toy Mine, three additional events are planned this year where the Freedom of the Borough will be conferred upon all key workers to thank them for their outstanding efforts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aberdare Festival will also move from its usual date in May to the long bank holiday in June and will run over two days in order to include celebrations for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Councillor Maureen Webber, Deputy Leader of the Council said:
“Following the restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, we very much look forward to welcoming members of the public back to enjoy events throughout the County Borough.
“Our last full event calendar was in 2019 and it’s wonderful to be able to bring back all the family favourites. From celebrating Easter at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience to enjoying a very different New Year’s Eve at the Nos Galan Road Races, there’s a lot to look forward to this year.
“We’re also very grateful to all our key workers who worked tirelessly during the Covid-19 pandemic and who will be honoured with the conferment of the Freedom of the County Borough at three separate events in Rhondda, Cynon and Taf.”
Further information on all these events will be released in due course via social media. Please follow @whatsonrct on facebook, twitter and instagram for latest updates.
