The ever-popular Easter Egg-stravaganza event is back! This year the event takes place on Wednesday 5th and Thursday 6th April so come along for some mid-week Easter holiday fun!
Themed activities over the two days will include an Easter Egg Hunt and arts and crafts for just £3 per child, and £2 per accompanying adult. A small children’s funfair will also be on site and rides are included in the ticket price.
In addition to the overground fun, the guided Underground Bunny Adventure makes a return for 2023 where a very special visitor will be waiting in his Bunny Burrow to meet you! Tickets for the Underground Bunny Adventure are £5 per person which includes a pair of bunny ears for every intrepid explorer.
Cllr Ann Crimmings, Cabinet Member for Environment, Leisure & Heritage Services, said: “Easter Egg-stravaganza is a fantastic way to kick off the annual events calendar at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience.
“We look forward to welcoming regular and brand-new visitors to one of the top tourist attractions here in Rhondda Cynon Taf – and of course we extend a very warm welcome to the Easter Bunny who will be visiting us for the very first time.
“There’s always a great day out to be had at A Welsh Coal Mining Experience; from the ever-popular underground guided tour with its virtual dram ride, to browsing the free exhibitions to relaxing in Caffe Bracchi with a coffee or afternoon tea, there’s always a reason to visit time and time again.

Please note:
The Easter Egg hunt and Underground Bunny Adventure are both suitable for wheelchair users. Prams cannot be accommodated underground due to space restrictions.
The Black Gold Experience Underground Guided Tour will not be operating for the duration of Easter Egg-stravaganza.
A Welsh Coal Mining Experience will be open on Good Friday and closed Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Easter Monday.
